In this course we revisit some essential prerequisite skills from grade 9 and build upon them. The three major strands are Analytic Geometry, Quadratics and Trigonometry. A very large portion of this course will be spent in the Quadratics strand where we will learn essential skills to be successful in any of the three grade 11 math courses.
Unit 1 - Linear Relations/Systems of Equations
Lesson 1.1
In this lesson we look at solving linear equations concepts from grade 9 to ensure that students have the skills needed in order to be successful in the first unit.
As part of this review, we look at working with fractions, both multiplying/dividing as well as addition/subtraction.

Lesson 1.2
In this lesson we look at developing the equation of the line as well as exploring other forms of a line. Methods for graphing lines, along with their straights and weaknesses will also be explored - Table of Values,
y = mx+b, as well as x and y intercept method.

Lesson 1.3
In this lesson we build upon our grade 9 skills of graphing lines by plotting two lines on the same grid. We look at what happens when we do this, and learn about one point in particular - the point of intersection (POI). Similarly to grade 9, we explore what it means for something to be a solution to an equation except in this lesson we look at systems of equations.
This formative covers the material taught in Lessons 1.1-1.3

Formative 1
Lesson 1.4
In this lesson we look back at the components of a line, slope and the y-intercept. We compare these components in systems of equations and decide how many solution that system will have by looking at the slopes and y-intercepts.
One solution, no solutions, or infinite solutions.

Lesson 1.5
In this lesson we explore a more accurate approach to finding the point of intersection. We will use our algebra skills that were reviewed at the beginning of the course to learn a process known as substitution.

Lesson 1.6
In this lesson we explore a more accurate approach to finding the point of intersection. Our goal is to match the coefficients in front of one of the variables so that we can eliminate that variable, and solve for the other.

Homework 1.6
This formative is a check-in on your ability to use Substitution and Elimination, as well as your ability to identify how many solutions a system of equations will have without solving.
